Community
Service
Since the beginning, our vision for FinCon has extended beyond helping just the financial media community. While helping our community create, promote, and profit is our main mission, we also want FinCon to help meet more immediate, local needs as well.
Each year at FinCon, we have a hands-on community service project opportunity for attendees to participate in. Here’s who we’ve supported through the years:
2023: Through local organizations such as Jump$tart and Tulane University, area New Orleans high school and college students were given passes to view screening of This Is Not Financial Advice film screening and panel presentation at FC23 [in partnership with NEFE]
2021: Supported Project Helping, a Colorado-based non-profit focused on improving mental wellness, by assembling Kynd Kits, care packages that were assembled and then sent back to Project Helping for distribution to a variety of people in need. Examples included financial literacy kits, elder care kits, foster care packages, dignity bags for the homeless, and more. (in partnership with NEFE).
2019: Supported Champions of Change by assembling 600 birthday bags for children in the foster care system (in partnership with NEFE).
