Personal Finance Influencers and Brands Unite at the Nation’s Capitol for #FinCon19 in September

On September 4-7, thousands of “money nerds” are taking over the nation’s capitol for #FinCon19. Now in its ninth year, FinCon continues to bring together influencers, brands, content creators, media marketers, and more from around the globe.

The aim of the event being held at the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C., is to help influencers and brands spread a positive money message. Attendees gather to discuss media strategies, learn new skills, and network and connect in person. In short, this event helps thousands of financial influencers and educators reach millions around the globe.

#FinCon19 Schedule At-A-Glance

Taking place over four days, the #FinCon19 schedule is jam-packed. From breakout sessions and workshops to meeting with the brands exhibiting in FinCon Central, the list goes on. The aim is to help influencers do three things: create better digital content, grow their online presence, and generate more income.

On September 5, Ramit Sethi, best-selling author of I Will Teach You to Be Rich, will deliver the opening keynote. This will set the tone for the rest of #FinCon19. Catherine Alford and Tanja Hester will deliver Big Idea Talks on the main stage this year and CNBC Senior Personal Finance correspondent Sharon Epperson will wrap up #FinCon19 with the closing keynote on Saturday.

Excitement from Brand, Companies, and #FinCon19 Sponsors

Excitement for the event is palpable. With over 2,500 attendees expected, it’s already generating considerable Internet buzz. Top-ranked digital personal finance shows will also record live podcasts and video on site.

Additionally, more than one hundred sponsors and exhibitors will be showcasing new products and initiatives. AARP, the Presenting sponsor, is returning in that role for a second year.

“AARP is pleased to be the presenting sponsor of #FinCon19 again this year,” said AARP Chief Communications and Marketing Officer Martha Boudreau. “Our 38 million members need trusted financial resources, information and tools to help navigate the complexities of life’s transitions—from caregiving to saving for retirement to protecting against fraud. Every day we create and distribute content that is designed to help the 50+ feel more secure, confident and in control of their financial future so that they can live their best life at every age. We look forward to working with #FinCon19 influencers to drive the public conversation about how to help people move decisively toward financial security.”

Other notable brands that will be present include Capital One (Platinum sponsor), Fidelity (Gold sponsor), and Ally Financial (Silver sponsor).

Community Service at #FinCon19

Another way that #FinCon19 fosters a positive money message is through service. By continuing its ongoing commitment to giving back, attendees will be invited to participate in a hands-on service project on Friday morning. Last year at #FinCon18, the National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE) sponsored a project that had influencers put together financial literacy and STEM kits for low-income communities in partnership with Hands On Orlando. This year’s community service project will also address local needs.
