Denver Area FinCon Local Group Closes Out 2012 with Another Solid Meetup
This post was written by Jason Steele, Denver FinCon local leader.
The Denver financial blogger community wrapped up an incredible 2012 with our final meetup of the year last Sunday, which was sponsored by PowerWallet.
In attendance was:
- Eric Rosen from NarrowBridgeFinance,
- Sean Bryant of FreeSnatcher and One Smart Dollar,
- Andrew Schrage of Money Crashers,
- Michelle of Shop My Closet,
- Peter Renton of Lend Academy,
- Craig Ford of Help Me Travel Cheap and Money Help for Christians, and myself,
- Jason Steele.
I was thinking about why our FinCon local events have been so much fun and have been such a success. First, we have a great group of bloggers here in Denver and we were able to get most of them out for the FinCon annual event last September.
Also, I have been very careful to choose an attractive venue and to try to find a time that works best for most people. While we have been going with Sunday afternoons, we have been very careful to avoid conflicting with the Denver Broncos football schedule.
…but that is about to change.
Someone floated the idea of holding our next meetup as a football party as well, especially as our Broncos have already clinched their playoff spot. I am happy to supply the venue, as I have constructed a home theater in my house.
Therefore, our next meetup will be January 12th or 13th, depending on when the Broncos play. We’ll supply pizza, Buffalo wings, and drinks.
Here’s to another great year for financial bloggers in Denver and around the world.
